HOME : About Us

Welcome to we-can-help-u.org website !    We are a 501 (c) 3, Not-For-Profit Agency established in 1999, staffed entirely by volunteers.  Our registered name is: Senior Advocate Center Chartered (SACC). All donations are tax deductible. We provide services to seniors, the disabled and their families.

We are supported through public donations and grants.  We do not apply for Federal/State funding, as we do not want to governed by guidelines that we feel omit the truly needy.  There appears to be several individuals and families that have a need, but have been denied assistance, apparently due to government guidelines and rules. We realize ‘rules’ are needed, however, we also believe consideration should be given to ‘all the facts’.

We all have heard of  a deserving person being denied assistance because they may have been over the income guidelines, sometimes by as little as by five dollars.  Was any consideration given for an unusual necessary expense, such as a medical need, or other situation that forced them to seek assistance ?

We endeavor to assist anyone. We offer several services and programs that include: I & R services; Food Insecure Programs:(Food Pantry, Baby Pantry, Pet Pantry); Budget Counseling; Clothes Closet Affiliate; Medical Equipment Loan Program; Save-A-Smile Program; Personal  Care Aides*; Transportation Assistance; A.C.T.I.V.E. Partner; Volunteer Opportunities & Consulting.

We may be contacted by phone at: 815-288-8627 (24/7 voicemail available); Mail : SACC, P O Box 1052, Sterling, IL 61081; e-mail: sacc8627@hotmail.com

As a reminder: Volunteer staff respond to our voicemail and email messages. Please remember to advise us of the name your city, (as we serve Whiteside, Lee, Ogle and LaSalle counties), when leaving a message, as well as, a phone number to confirm details. All volunteers receive extensive training, however, if you feel you have not received a reply in a reasonable amount of time, please contact us again.   Our volunteers are human, and may make an error; and, they are not clairvoyant. Thank you for your time and considerations in assisting SACC.
